Each creature presents what it has made or gathered: a crane offers the imprint of her steps, a rabbit brings apples, an eagle lays out stones. These are modest, hesitant contributions. The scene suggests a moment when making becomes visible to others, and communication begins – through the sharing of what one has done with one's own hands, paws, or claws.
